Due to the 2019-2020 outbreak of the novel coronavirus, (COVID-19), A Touch Above is taking extra precautions for the health and safety of our clients and our families. We have strengthened our sanitation and disinfection procedures through additional training in compliance with CDC standards and in accordance with NYS Board of Licensed Massage Therapy and the reopening requirements for massage therapy in the State of New York. All clients will be screened for symptoms before their appointment. Should a client exhibit symptoms related to COVID-19, in accordance with state guidelines, A Touch Above will be unable to provide services and will reschedule your appointment.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include:
Loss of taste or smell
Bruising, redness, swelling, or cramping in lower legs and feet
Red or purple toes
Flu Like Symptoms
Individuals considered High Risk for severe illness from COVID-19 are:
(If you are considered high risk we ask that you wait to start massage therapy)
Anyone 65 and older
People who live in nursing home or long term care facilities
Underlying medical conditions that may lead to higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 include, but are not limited to:
Chronic lung disease and asthma
Serious heart conditions
Chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis
People who are immuno compromised (many conditions including cancer treatment, smoking, bone marrow or organ transplant, genetic immune deficiencies, poorly controlled HIV or AIDS, prolonged use of corticosteroids and other immune suppressants medications, etc.)
Pregnancy (No current data shows COVID-19 affects pregnant people any differently, however, the CDC reccomends avoiding unecessary exposure.)
NYS has issued minimum requirements for businesses to open in a phased approach along with industry specific guidelines. A Touch Above adheres to all requirements and guidelines and has taken extra precautions to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION TEXT
the morning of your appointment or the evening before you will receive a confirmation text from you provider confirming your start time for your service and asked a few covid related questions. Please reply to the text so that we know you understand our requirements before arrival.
1. Have you recently experienced any covid related symptoms? temperature loss of sense of taste or smell dry cough(non allergy related) etc
2. In the past 14 days have you recently been tested for covid or have you come in contact with someone who tested positive or had covid related symtoms?
3. Have you recently gone to the casino or any other facility who recently had an employee test positive?
CHECK IN RULES a health disclosure will need to be signed upon entering the facility for services.
Client temperatures will be taken on arrival and privately recorded in their file. If your temperature is 100.4 degres you will be asked to reschedule without penalty.
WALK-INS- to ensure social distancing walk ins are not permitted at this time. You must call and schedule services needed.
SANITIZING: We have added extra precautions to our already strict cleaning procedures.
Associates at A Touch Above will wear PPE (personal protective equipment) consisting of a cloth barrier over clothing, mask & goggles or shield and mask, facial massage is not permitted at this time. All PPE will be discarded and/or sanitized between appointments.
Members will thoroughly wash hands up to elbows before and after every client and anytime after cleaning and handling soiled items.
A Touch Above will thoroughly clean and disinfect all high touch surfaces, equipment, and accessories with hospital grade and EPA approved products per manufacturers recommendations between every appointment.
Client will be provided with clean linens, blanket, towels, barrier protected pillows/bolsters and face rest cover.
Complimentary items will be available upon request such as bottles of water, mints, aromatherapy, business cards, etc.
Additional time is allowed between appointments to accommodate all new guidelines.
Hepa Filtration system has been maintained for the building.
Cancellation policies/fees will be waived if you should need to cancel due to illness. Please call the spa as early as possible to cancel your service
For your safety any individual who has an independent business inside our location is tested and checked before starting work
each day to ensure they are feeling healthy. All providers have been covid tested prior to starting work for your safety.
